Race Reports - 2007 - Gary's tongue/cheek Philadelphia

That was fun. I just might run another marathon but this time I will refuse all offers of beer from spectators, especially with 5 miles left in the race. It brought a whole new meaning to the expression "hitting the wall".

I would like to thank the following people:

Dr. Killer Miller for running with me at 7:30am every Saturday morning and offering his pearls of wisdom regarding marathon running and for the many laughs.

Michael DB for his on-line (a telephone is on-line to me) advice concerning race strategy and ensuring my hair looks good for the finish line photo (I think I screwed that part up).

Nestor for providing transportation to Philadelphia in the coolest and most equipped mini van that I have ever seen.

Isabelle for the exciting drive through Camden.

Albert, Mary, Luciana, Alan and Bill for the great company to Philly and back.

Albert for organizing a fantastic group meal

Final thanks to Bill for always being there to run with the club and answering all our questions.

I also want to congratulate all the above and also Steve, Suzanne, Paul, Trina, Christine, Allison and Michelle for their marathon accomplishments along with Luciana, Jim, Sonya, Wayne and Mary for their half marathon results.

The band is playing the music so I have to wrap up my Philly Marathon acceptance speech.
